Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov met with the President of China Xi Jinping in Beijing on 2 September 2015.
During the meeting, Islam Karimov congratulated his Chinese counterpart with the 70th victory in the World War II and added that China made huge contribution to the Victory.
Xi Jinping expressed gratitude to the Uzbek President for accepting invitation to China. He also congratulated Islam Karimov and people of Uzbekistan with the Independence Day. He said that people of Uzbekistan, who fought fascism in the World War II, supported Chinese people. He said the Chinese people will never forget it and China highly rates current level of cooperation.
At the meeting, the sides considered current level of relations and perspectives of their development.
Islam Karimov said that Uzbekistan highly rates cooperation with China and relations between two states are growing in all spheres.
Xi Jinping underlined that China considers Uzbekistan as one of perspective strategic partners and is interested in expanding mutual cooperation.
The sides exchanged opinion on wide-scale issues of further developing the Uzbek-Chinese relations and discussed regional and international problems of mutual interest.
President Islam Karimov participated in unofficial meeting of the heads of the states and governments of foreign states, invited to China.
Islam Karimov will participate in solemn ceremony, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the World War II in Beijing on 3 September 2015.
