Interior Ministry: “Blast” in Tashkent was part of drills

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Divisions of the city department of interior affairs of Tashkent conducted drills on Friday, 4 September, and blast in the city was a part of the exercises, RIA Novosti reported quoting press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan.
According to the script of the drills, the terrorist detonated hand-made explosive at bus station near one of Tashkent mosques at 13:32.
Police forces were cordoned the district of the incident after they were called on alarm, the press service of the Ministry of Interior Affairs said.
In the result of operative search, the “terrorist” was detained in neighboring district after 15 minutes from the incident.
The script of the drills was close to real conditions as it was important to check vigilance and efficiency of rapid reaction forces - firefighters, employees of emergency and ambulance, the Ministry said.
He said that in the initial stage all these services were not informed on planned drills of divisions of the city department of interior affairs of Tashkent.
