EVRAZ to supply rails for high speed railroad in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian company EVRAZ will supply rails for construction of high speed railroad between Bukhara and Samarkand.
According to Russian company, EVRAZ signed a contract for supply of 25-meter rails to Uzbekistan. The sum of contract and the volume of supplied railways were not disclosed.
The release of the Russian company said that it is the first supply of rails to high speed railroads abroad. The rails will be used for construction of high speed railway between Samarkand and Bukhara.
Differentially-thermostrengthening category DT350SS rails are designed to combined speed railways with the speed of up to 250 km/h. The rails are manufactured on modern rolling mill of Evraz ZSMK and have improved the geometric parameters, and provide a smooth ride comfort of passenger trains and freight trains.
Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) is planning to launch a high speed railway communication between Tashkent and Bukhara in 2016. The launch of line will decrease travel time twice.
The company realizes a project on electrification of the part of railway Samarkand-Bukhara in 2015-2016, which will organize high-speed railway communication between Tashkent and Bukhara. About US$400 million will be allocated to implementation of the project.
After project completion, two high speed trains will run between Tashkent and Bukhara. At the same time, travel time will be decreased twice – from 7-8 hours to 3.5 hours.
