Uzbek Labour Minister presents report on creation of jobs in 1H to parliament

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan hosted a hearing of information of the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Aziz Abdukhakimov on realization of the programme on creation of new jobs and ensuring employment of population in 2015.
The hearing was held on 30 September. Minister underlined that the programme is implemented in line with the tasks, outlined in the report of the President Islam Karimov at the Cavinet of Ministers, dedicated to the results of social-economic development in 2014 and important priorities of economic programme for 2015.
It was underlined that about 441,800 jobs were created in January-June 2015, of which 441,800 (62.2%) were created in rural areas, the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan said.
Major part of the jobs was created in Samarkand, Ferghana, Tashkent, Bukhara, Andijan regions and Tashkent city.
The job fairs, organized in places, helped to create 141,000 new jobs. Over 15,000 citizens received information and consultations on labour rights.
Ministry initiated Days of open days for starting own businesses for graduates of colleges and lyceums, which helped graduates to open their own business. The project was implemented in cooperation with banks, local administrations, tax bodies, mahalla, etc.
During the event, the participants received information on launching of their own businesses, received loans and purchased equipment, necessary to run their businesses
Afterwards, the MPs discussed the report of the Minister and adopted a corresponding decision of the lower house of the Uzbek parliament.
