Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total annual capacity of cement plants of Uzbekistan may reach 16.7 million tonnes by 2020, local newspaper Pravda Vostoka reported.
Currently, Uzstroymaterialli has five cement plants – Qyzylqumcement, Ahangarancement, Quvasoycement and Bekabadcement. In 2000-2014, they increased cement production from 3.28 to 7.46 million tonnes (2.3 times up). The annual average growth of cement production made up 7%.
According to the forecasts for 2015, the cement plants of Uzbekistan will increase cement production by 500,000 tonnes compared to 2014.

The plants will also introduce dry method of cement production, replacing current wet method of cement production. This will help to decrease consumption of energy resources in cement production. The consumption of gas is twice higher in wet method of cement production.
Qyzylkumcement produces cement at three lines with the capacity of 3.55 million tonnes with dry method. By 2018, the company plans to construct and launch new technological line for US$150 million, which includes cement mill with the capacity of 1.61 million tonnes. It is also planned to modernize three furnaces with the cement mills and increase their capacities. In the result, the capacity of the plant will reach 6.44 million tonnes of cement a year. Annually, the enterprise will save 54.7 million KWH of electricity and 42.1 million cubic meters of gas.
