Uzbekistan collects 3.35m tonnes of cotton

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cotton growers of Uzbekistan collected over 3.35 million tonnes of crop and fulfilled their agreement liabilities with surplus. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov congratulated farmers with execution of the state orders on wheat, cotton, production of other agriculture products.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov said that the farmers collected 7.3 million tonnes of wheat, over 3.35 million tonnes of cotton and achieved successful results in silkworm breeding, cattle breeding, production of fruits and vegetables.
Islam Karimov said that the cotton was harvested in short period of time – 35-40 working days and 90% of yield was high sort cotton.
Farmers in Andijan, Bukhara, Khorezm, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Samarkand regions and Karakalpakstan were among the first, who executed the contractual obligations, he said.
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said that farmers kept over 57% or 4.21 million tonnes of collected wheat in 2015.
Uzbek head underlined that the country spent 1.627 trillion soums in last seven years to improve conditions of 2.045 million hectares of land.
