Uzbekistan, Germany discuss trade-economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second session of the Uzbek-German and German-Uzbek Business Councils was held in Tashkent on 4 November 2015.
Representatives of ministries and departments, companies and firms of Uzbekistan and Germany attended the event, which was chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov and member of board of Claas Jan-Hendrik Mohr, UzA reported.
The session considered issues of developing trade-economic and investment cooperation between two nations, including in banking, trade, investment, industry, transport, communication, pharmaceuticals, light and textile industries.
It is worth to mention that the first session of the Councils was held on 25 February in Berlin. The agreements for realization of investments and attraction of German loans for US$2.8 billion were signed in the result of the meeting.
Germany is one of key partners of Uzbekistan in the European Union. Bilateral trade made up US$685 million in 2014. Currently, over 110 enterprises with German investments operate in Uzbekistan, while 40 German firms have their offices in Uzbekistan.
