Uzbek light industry attracts investments for US$187.3m in 2015

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Light industry of Uzbekistan attracted investments for US$187.3 million within the investment programme for 2015, which grew by 2.7% compared to 2014.
According to Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek Light Industry), new 33 enterprises were launched in 2015, which allowed to create over 12,000 news jobs.
On the eve of Independence Day of Uzbekistan (1 September), some 18 new industrial enterprises for US$99 million were launched. Export potential of the enterprises is US$43.1 million. Three new enterprises were launched on the eve of the Constitution Day of Uzbekistan (8 December).
In particular, the project on the base of Maxim Gold will be completed in Tashkent region. The project with the cost of US$7 million envisages production of 3,500 tonnes of cotton yarn a year.
Lemon International (Hong Kong) is completing a project with the cost of US$2.4 million on the base of bankrupt enterprise Bobur in Andijan region. The enterprise will produce 1 million units of knitted products a year
Another project is implemented in Jizzakh region on the base of machine-tractor fleet Dustlik. The project cost is US$600,000. The enterprise will produce 3.5 million units of products a year.
