Shavkat Mirziyayev visits Syrdarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Interim President and Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev visited Syradrya region on 1 October 2016.
During his visit to the region, Mirziyayev paid visit to Syrdarya thermal station and discussed issues of expanding its capacities via re-equipment of existing energy units.
Specialists of the station received task to improve efficiency of the station and decrease prime cost of electricity production.
In Gulistan, Interim President familiarized with Uzbek-British joint venture Guliston Medtehnika, which started its operations from 1 October.
The enterprise with the cost of US$7.3 million will annually produce 216 million syringes and 26 million infusion systems. The products will be supplied to the markets of Uzbekistan and countries of the CIS.
Mirziyayev also got acquainted with the projects of construction of modern multi-storey houses for low-income families in Gulistan.
Later he visited Gulistan district, where he met with the farmers. During the meeting, Interim President said that Uzbekistan plans to increase level processing of cotton fiber up to 70% in all regions, which produce cotton.
He stated that Uzbekistan will construct fabrics to produce ready goods. Farmers will be participants of these textile companies, Mirziyayev said.
Interim President also discussed the projects of construction of houses for law income families in the district. It is planned to build one, two and three-storey houses in each rural areas.
Shavkat Mirziyayev also held a meeting with the MPs of Syrdarya regional Council. The participants discussed development of the region, expansion of its export potential, etc.
