Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary results of the second week-long national industrial fair held at the Uzexpocentre, exhibition centre in Tashkent, 1,440 agreements and contracts worth 1.4 trillion soums (over US$1 billion) in total have been signed.
The deals signed were for buying equipment made in Uzbekistan and jointly organizing production of new goods.
The fair has already become a traditional one and was held as part of implementing Uzbek President Islom Karimov’s decree "On measures on further developing cooperation among and within industries" issued on 12 November 2007.
In all, 270 Uzbek enterprises from leading industries of Uzbekistan’s economy attended the fair.
