Eleventh plenary session of Senate to be held on 24 August

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Eleventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held on 24 August in Tashkent, information service of the upper chamber of the Uzbek parliament said in a statement.

On 18 August 2017, the Kengash (Council) of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on convocation of the eleventh plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 24 August 2017 in Tashkent.

Senators will consider a number of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, aimed at radically improving the effectiveness of reforms, being implemented, consistent implementation of the State Program for Implementation of the Strategy for Action in the five priority development directions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.

In particular, the members of Senate will consider the laws “On dissemination of legal information and access to it”, “On protection of children from information, which is harmful to their health”, “On Commissioner under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Protection of Rights and Legal Interests of Entrepreneurs”, “On legal entities” (new edition), “On elections to the district Kengashi of People’s Deputies of Tashkent city”, “On introduction of amendments and additions, as well as abolishment of some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, and others.

At the plenary session, the senators will also consider the laws "On the Establishment of the Youth Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "On the Establishment of the Day of Agricultural Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

The agenda of the plenary session also includes issue on including Toitepa, Yangiyul and Akhangaran citiees of Tashkent region to the category of cities of regional subordination.

In addition, at the plenary session, the senators will consider election of judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, sending of a parliamentary request to individual heads of state authorities and administrations, as well as the results of the parliamentary inquiry.

The plenary session also plans to consider other issues related to the competence of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
