Territory of Bekabad to grow up to 3,440 hectares

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Territory of Bekabad city (Tashkent region) will grow from 2,900 to 3,440 hectares, according to the draft general plan of the city til 2035.
The draft plan was presented by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Bekabad.
According to the draft plan, the city’s population is expected to increase from the current 90,000 to 110,000 people.
Uzbek leader shared his proposals on further improving the general plan. In particular, he proposed to expand work on landscaping and improvement, construction of new houses and shopping centers.
New multi-storey and private houses will be built in the city. Around the houses parks will be created and social facilities will be built.
It is also planned to repair the city’s central hospital. The hospital will receive medical equipment for US$1 million.
President of Uzbekistan proposed to build a high-speed train between Tashkent and Bekabad. He noted that necessary infrastructure will be created along the road of the electric train.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions on improving the systems of supply of drinking water and heating to the population of Bekabad.
