Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 August 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with representatives of academic and cultural circles of India.
The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Abdulaziz Kamilov is in Delhi on an official visit.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the leading scientists of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia University, non-governmental organization “Unity Foundation Delhi”, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, activists of International Babur Foundation.
The sides exchanged views on expanding and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, direct contacts between scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan and India.
It was stated that Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and his descendants played key role in history, literature, music, painting and architecture of the Uzbek and Indian peoples. Their enduring heritage creates a powerful potential for strengthening bilateral relations, continuing the centuries-old traditions of fruitful trade, scientific, cultural exchanges between Uzbekistan and India.
During the participants voiced concrete proposals to expand the interaction.
