Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 August, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures on further introducing modern forms and methods of implementing state and corporate procurement of goods (works, services)”.
Uzbek leader abolished the requirement to use state and corporate procurement of goods (works, services) via electronic bidding system of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) to the among equal from US$300 to US$1,000 per a contract.
The document said that the state bodies and companies can purchase services, works and goods up to US$1,000 via direct contracts from the suppliers, who offered the most acceptable price and quality of goods.
Goods, works and services from US$1,000 to US$100,000 per contract should be purchased via the bidding commissions of the buyers.
Goods, works and services for over US$100,000 should be procured via competitive tenders, organized by interdepartmental tender commissions, created by buyers with attraction of representatives of State Investment Committee, UzInjiniring and others.
The document said that starting from January 2018, the Unified National Resources Directory and the Unified Information Portal for Public Procurement will be launched in Uzbekistan.
Uzbek President also abolished sectoral interdepartmental tender commissions for procurement of goods (works, services) within the framework of investment projects, implemented in the relevant sectors of the economy and social sphere for over US$5 million per a contract.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also liquidated specialized branch expert councils, which perform functions of expert examination of tender and pre-project documentation.
