Spain appoints Ambassador to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ignacio Ybáñez Rubio has been appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Spain to Uzbekistan with a residence in Moscow.
On 15 September 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador of Spain.
Ignacio Ybáñez Rubio handed over his credentials to Abdulaziz Kamilov, addressed to the President of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed the state and prospects for further development of the Uzbek-Spanish dialogue.
The diplomats expressed confidence that the meeting of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King Philip VI of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Astana on 9 June 2017 will become a new benchmark for further development of fruitful and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, and will help to activate the ties between two countries.
Abdulaziz Kamilov and Ignacio Ybáñez Rubio discussed practical aspects of forthcoming contacts between Uzbekistan and Spain at various levels, including between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of two nations.
The Minister positively estimated that Spain will be represented at high level at the international conference under the auspices of the United Nations “Central Asia: one past and common future, cooperation for sustainable development and mutual prosperity”, which will take in Samarkand in November 2017.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
