Uzbekistan’s GDP makes up 170.75 trln. soums in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 170.75 trillion soums at current prices in January-September 2017.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the growth rate made up 5.3% in January-September compared to the same period of 2016.
The main factors of GDP growth were the growth rates of the main sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fishing –3.5% (the share in GDP structure – 16.9%), industry – 4.1% (25%), construction –5.3% (7.4%), trade and accommodation and food service activity – 6.5% (11.6%), transportation and storage, information and communication – 7.3% (13.1%), and other service activities – 6% (26%).
In January-September 2017, the share of services in the GDP structure was 50.7% or 0.6 percentage points lower than in January-September 2016 (51.3%). The share of transportation and storage, information and communication decreased by 0.6 percentage points and was 13.1% in the reporting period.
The share of trade, accommodation and food service activities increased by 0.5 percentage points and was 11.6% and that of other service activities decreased from 26.5% in January-September 2016 to 26% in January-September 2017. In the GDP structure by form of ownership, the share of the non-state sector was 80.3% and that of the state sector – 19.7%.
In January-September 2017, the outstripping GRP growth rates were marked in Andijan region (+7,1%), Khorezm region (+6,7%) and Tashkent city (+6,1%). The low GRP growth rates compared to the republican level (+5,3%) were observed in Syrdarya region (-1%), Navoi region (+0,7%), Bukhara region (+3%), and Surkhandarya region (+3%).
The highest share of GRP contributed to Uzbekistan’s GDP was marked in Tashkent city – 15.5%, Tashkent region and Samarkand region occupy following places with 10.8% and 7.2% respectively.
The lowest GRP share was registered in Syrdarya region (1.9%), Jizzakh region (2.5%), Khorezm region (3.4%), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.4%).
