Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gold and foreign exchange reserves of Uzbekistan as of 1 November 2017 reached US$26 billion, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Timur Ishmetov said at a meeting of the International Press Club.
According to him, the country’s gold and currency reserves since the beginning of the autumn increased by US$750 million.
He noted that the Central Bank did not publish this data earlier. This information was considered as confidential, he added.
Ishmetov said that in line with the decision of the President of Uzbekistan, some economic data will be “declassified” and will be available in the public domain.
“From 1 January, each agency, including the Central Bank, will officially publish gold and foreign currency reserves, money supply indicators and all economic indicators,” he said.
