Meeting of Ministers of SCO member states takes in Moscow

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 16th Meeting of the Ministers of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities, was held in Moscow (Russian Federation) on 15 November 2017.
Officials of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties considered a wide range of issues on the further development of regional economic interaction, including exchanged views on the state and prospects of trade, economic and investment cooperation in the SCO region.
The heads of delegations considered a draft report of the SCO Secretariat on implementation of the program of multilateral trade and economic cooperation of the SCO member states.
Heads of delegations welcomed accession of India and Pakistan to the practical activities of the Organization in the economic sphere, including implementation of relevant program and planning documents.
The heads of delegations noted the important role of promoting the cooperation of the SCO member states in such areas as e-commerce, trade in services, trade facilitation, and the development of cooperation between research and analytical centers on economic issues, stressing the urgency of considering prospects and possible formats for cooperation in the above areas.
The next Ministerial Meeting in 2018 will be held in Tajikistan.
Following the meeting of the ministers, the heads of the delegations of the SCO member states signed the Protocol.
