Turnover of retail trade in Uzbekistan increases by 2.4% in 2017

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turnover of retail trade in Uzbekistan increased by 2.4% in 2017 compared to the same period of 2016, the State Statics Committee said.
The turnover share of large enterprises amounted to 11.6%. The increase in demand for goods such as consumer goods, tobacco products, gasoline and alcoholic beverages led to an increase in the growth rate for large enterprises by 14.5% compared to the previous year.
Regions with high turnover shares such as Tashkent city (22.5%), Tashkent (10.6%), Fergana (8.7%), Samarkand (8.5%) and Andijan (7.7%) regions have a positive impact on growth of retail sales.
Retail turnover, including turnover of food enterprises, per capita increased by 0.7%, and made up 3.3 million soums (in January-December 2016 - 2.8 million soums).
The highest average goods turnover per capita was registered in Tashkent city (9.7 million soums), Navoi (4.6 million soums) and Tashkent (3.9 million soums) regions.
The volume of retail turnover of food enterprises amounted to 3.1 trillion soums or increased by 1.8%. The share of turnover of food enterprises in the total retail trade turn-over amounted to 2.9%.
Retail trade turnover of small business increased by 2.7% to the level of the same period in the previous year. The share of sales in the total retail trade turn-over was 88.4%.
Out of the total volume of small business turn-over, the sale of goods in unorganized trade amounted to 13.4 trillion soums. The share of this sector in the total volume of trade amounted to 12.7%.
