Uzbekistan implements five projects in sphere of sericulture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to implement five projects to organize the production of raw silk, silk wool, silk fabric and finished products from it. The total cost of projects is US$26 million.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to further develop the silk industry in the republic” on 12 January 2018.
Bukhara Brilliant Silk is implementing a project “Organization of the production of silk fabric and finished products in Tashkent city” in cooperation with Karoma Investment Limited (UAE). The cost of the project is US$5 million.
The enterprise will produce 460,000 linear meters of silk fabric, 850,000 running meters of special silk fabric on a jacquard loom. Also, painting and printing of patterns (572,000 linear meters) and production of finished products (43,000 pieces) will be organized.
Andijan Silk Co. and Tongxiang Juncheng (China) will implement a project “Organization of production of raw silk, silk wool and silk fabric in Andijan region” worth US$6 million.
After the launch, the company will be able to produce 192 tonnes of raw silk and 81 tonnes of silk wool, as well as 691,200 linear meters of silk fabric.
Another project to organize the production of raw silk, silk wool and silk fabric will be carried out in Jizzakh region. The project cost is US$5 million. The project will be implemented by Silk Expert Processing Ltd. and Abnmb group (UK).
The project envisages creation of capacities for production of raw silk (192 tonnes), silk wool (81 tonnes) and silk fabrics (692,100 meters).
Agro global LLC will send US$5 million to the project “Organization of production of raw silk, silk wool and silk fabric in Syrdarya region”, which will allow the production of 144 tonnes of raw silk, 81 tonnes of silk wool and 345.6 million silk fabrics a year.
In Khorezm region, a project will also be implemented to organize the production of raw silk, silk wool and silk fabrics worth US$5 million. The project will be implemented by Khiva Silk Fabric.
The enterprise will produce 144 tonnes of raw silk, 81 tonnes of silk wool and 345,600 linear meters of silk fabric.
The projects will be implemented at the expense of the founders’ own funds (US$8.5 million), bank loans (US$9 million) and foreign investments (US$8.5 million).
