Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discuss delimitation and demarcation of state borders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Tajikistan held a regular joint meeting of the Uzbek-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border in Ferghana on 24 February.
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda took part in the meeting.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, members of Governments, heads of ministries, departments and leading economic structures of the two countries also took part in the event.
The sides highly appreciated the modern level of Uzbek-Tajik relations in all spheres of interaction.
It was stated that thanks to the political will of the heads of the two states, contacts at the high and highest levels were significantly intensified, an effective exchange of government delegations was established, meetings of intergovernmental commissions were successfully held, and mutual exhibitions of industrial products in the cities of Dushanbe and Tashkent were fruitfully organized.
The delegations of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed issues of passing the project line of the Uzbek-Tajik State border in certain areas. The parties noted that in a short period it was possible to achieve significant progress in the process of delimitation of the State Border.
The participants also paid attention to organizational and content aspects of upcoming events at the highest level - preparation and coordination of a package of bilateral documents, agreements and contracts to be signed during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan, scheduled for March 2018.
