Legislative Chamber considers reports of political parties, draft laws

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session to consider reports of political parties and several laws.
The MPs considered reports of political parties on source of financing of their activities in 2017 and efficient use of the resources, issued from the state budget.
MPs discussed a draft law on introduction of changes and amendments to law “On mandatory insurance of civil liability of transporters”, which is directed at improving mechanism of insurance and protection of interest of the passengers and strengthening control over execution of the law.
As of 1 January 2018, number of licensed vehicles, conducting passenger transportations in Uzbekistan, makes up 74,025 units. Only 30% of them were insured.
The draft law will allow transporters to sign insurance agreement from 3 months to 1 years and sets requirement that passenger transporters, should have insurance policy.
Later, MPs considered ratification of the Convention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on combating extremism.
The document forms mechanism for interaction of the SCO member staes in preventing and fighting extremism.
MPs also considered other issues of its jurisdiction.
