Uzbekistan to hold Road Safety Day and Car Free Day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to hold Road Safety Day each Friday.
On 19 May 2018, the Government of Uzbekistan approved a concept of road safety for 2018-2022 and the road map for its implementation.
As part of the Road Safety Day, measures will be taken to ensure strict observance of traffic rules and prevention of road accidents.
Car Free Days will be held in all regions of Uzbekistan each month. The campaign is aimed at attracting public attention to problem of safety on the roads, as well as demonstrating that movement without vehicles is possible and necessary.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan was instructed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of road accidents and, based on the results of the analysis, draw up a situational map of dangerous road sections with a high frequency of accidents, statistics of their main causes and risk factors, focusing on the most frequent causes of road accidents, and take effective measures to eliminate them.
