Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Navoi region led by deputy hokim Uktam Islamov visited Hungary in order to establish close trade and economic cooperation between regions and attract Hungarian investments to Uzbekistan.
In Budapest, a business forum and a number of bilateral meetings were organized along with the visits to the industrial park and 7 production facilities in Hungary, Dunyo news agency reported.
As a result of the visit, Uzbekistan and Hungary agreed to implement 2 projects involving Hungarian investments worth US$1.5 million. The parties also intend to study the issue of creating a modern production plant for instant freezing of fruits.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held talks with the president of the Hungarian low-cost airline WizzAir, Jozsef Varadi.
The Uzbek side presented the potential of the international airport "Navoi" and the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan, the issue of the economic efficiency of establishing the Budapest-Navoi-Budapest flight was examined.
Following the meeting with the general director of Hevesgep (Mishkolts), L.Lorins, an agreement was reached on presentation of the company’s equipment for drying, sorting and storing grain at the agricultural technologies exhibition "Agrominiteh" and "Agrotechmash" in Tashkent, as well as the joint production of this equipment in Uzbekistan in case of demand.
Negotiations were held with K. Laslo, the general director of the Kiss Group group of companies engaged in processing of waste and chemical products into energy and a major producer of vegetable oil in Hungary. The parties agreed to organize on the basis of the Kiss Group courses of professional development of about 20 Uzbek specialists with housing and medical insurance.
At the business forum in the Hungarian national trading house in Budapest, the attention of the business circles of this country is presented by the investment and tourism potential of Uzbekistan, including Navoi region.
Between Sharq yog’-moy sanoat LLC (Navoi region) and the Hungarian company Virgin Oil Press Ltd, an agreement was reached on joint implementation of a US$1 million project to produce various grades of oils from different grains using the cold press method.
Following the meeting with the director general of Mirelite Mirsa (the country’s largest producer of semi-finished and meat products, frozen fruits and vegetables), J. Loso agreed to implement a US$30 million project for deep freezing of fruits and vegetables in Khatirchy district of Navoi region.
The delegation visited the Agricultural University and the St. Stephen Research Center (Gödöllö town) and got acquainted with Hungary’s 100-year experience and innovative achievements in the field of fish farming, beekeeping and maize cultivation. Following the meeting with the administration of the university, an agreement was reached on the acceptance of students and businessmen from Uzbekistan for training and raising the experience.
During the meeting with the director of the fish processing company Metrimpex Co.Ltd, P. Euzhef, an investment project was discussed to create a joint venture in te Navoi region to grow, process and pack fish, and export frozen fish and fish fillets from Uzbekistan to Hungary. The volume of Hungarian investments will amount to 500,000 euros.
Negotiations with the regional director of the cattle company Hunland Trade Kft K. Yurevich led to an agreement on the supply of 400 breeds of Holstein cattle to Uzbekistan.
A meeting was held with the Hungarian Senator F. Zoltan in Veszprem region and with the heads of the CCI, the Agricultural Chamber of the region, during which the prospects for establishing interregional cooperation were discussed. Representatives of the Veszprem region were invited to visit Navoi region. In addition, the Hungarian side was proposed to establish twin-city relations between the administrative centers of the two regions.
The delegation of Uzbekistan visited the Fonix industrial zone, located in Veszprem region to familiarize with the European experience of creating industrial zones and establishing cooperation with the Navoi free economic zone.
During the visit to the facilities of Bourns for production of fuel measurement details, pressure for cars, the Hungarian personnel management system was studied. Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to initiate research on reformatting the management system in the Navoi FEZ in cooperation with the company.
