GM Uzbekistan stops production of Chevrolet Captiva

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- GM Uzbekistan stops production of automobiles of Chevrolet Captiva model, the press service of the company said in a statement.

The company said that from today it stopped registration of applications for issuing of contracts for the supply of Chevrolet Captiva cars.

GM Uzbekistan stated that it will fulfill all its obligations to supply Chevrolet Captiva cars under the concluded contracts by the end of 2018.

The Uzbek-US carmaker launched assembly of Chevrolet Captiva in Uzbekistan in October. In September 2011 and in February 2017, the company started production of updated model of the cars.

GM Uzbekistan plans to begin a large-scale assembly of Chevrolet Tracker cars in Tashkent by the end of 2018 and will start serial assembly of the model at the Asaka automobile plant from 2019.
