Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo as an experiment started to introduce new payment system for electricity among household consumers of Yunusabad district of Tashkent city.
The new procedure is introduced in line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the gradual change in prices and tariffs for fuel and energy resources” from 1 November 2018.
According to the new order, from 1 January, the base rate of electricity consumption for one consumer per month is set at 300 kW/h. At the same time, within the limits of the basic norm, the calculation is carried out according to the established tariff; in case of its excess, the calculation is carried out using the 1.2-fold increase factor to the set tariff.
The main goal of the system implementation is to stimulate consumers to rational and efficient use of electrical energy, which will lead to a reduction in consumption during peak hours of the power system and to ensure reliable, uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
Today, as a result of an increase in the standard of living of the population, the need for the use of electrical energy is growing. If in 2000 the average monthly consumption of one household consumer was 114 kW / h, then in 2018 this figure increased by 75%, and the average monthly consumption was about 200 kW / h. At the same time, the demand for electricity is expected to increase 1.5 times by 2030 compared to 2018.
The experiment will last till 1 July 2019 and in case of success it is planned to implement the procedure across Uzbekistan.
