Uzbek-German joint venture to start assembling lorries in September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek-German joint venture MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will start producing MAN lorries in Uzbekistan in September 2009.
An assembly line had been set up at one of the facilities belonging to the SamAuto limited liability company in Samarqand. The joint venture will produce MAN TGA lorries with a carrying capacity of between 15 and 50 tonnes.
According to preliminary data, the designed capacity of the assembly line will be 1,000 lorries a year.
The joint venture was set up with the authorized fund of 3 million euros; the Uzbek side’s share is 51% and the German side’s share is 49%. The venture will also assemble city buses.
