Voters in Uzbekistan will receive SMS (Short Message Service) messages, which will remind them parliamentary polls and elections to local Deputies Councils.

Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan held negotiations with the management of mobile companies, working in Uzbekistan.
Subscribers of Beeline, MTS-Uzbekistan, Perfectum Mobile and UCell, on preliminary agreement, will receive SMS messages on 24 December and 26 December.
Currently, number of mobile subscribers in Uzbekistan exceeds 16 million people and majority of them are potential voters.
According to Central Election Commission, the number of voters in Uzbekistan comprises 17 million people. |
