General Assembly for cooperation between UN and SCO

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 December, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution "Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization" with consensus.
The SCO member states - Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - and Pakistan and Dominican Republic were co-authors of the resolution.
The document lays legal ground for further strengthening of practical interaction between the UN and the SCO, which is observer of the UN General Assembly.
Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry said the cooperation of the UN and its agencies with the SCO will help to realization of goals and tasks of the UN in interest of deepening wide-scale cooperation in settlement of international political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian issues.
