UzLiDeP opinion: logic steps towards strategic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Analysis of the Uzbek-Chinese relations demonstrates a high level of strategic partnership between the countries and trend of their significant expansion, which is based on the agreement on friendship and cooperation, joint declaration on further developing and deepening bilateral relations of strategic partnership.
Regular meetings of the leaders of two states, directed at further improving inter-governmantal relations and implementation of potential of Uzbekistan and China in various areas, play a great role in this. China is one of largest trade-economic and investment partners of Uzbekistan. In last six years, trade turnover between two states rose six times and last year reached the level of US$5.2 billion. This year, it is planned to implement over 15 projects with participation of Chinese firms at the special industrial zone Jizzakh with total cost of over US$50 million.
The recent visit and results of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to China is logic evidence for above-mentioned conclusions. Adopted programme on developing strategic partnership for 2014-2018, signed joint declaration between Uzbekistan and China and other documents are directed at further developing technical-economic cooperation between two nations, strengthnening partnership in such areas as energy, high technology and banking-financial spheres. Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) believed that the visit will strengthen high level of the Uzbek-Chinese relations.
Overall, the visit of the Uzbek President to China serves to strengthening mutual political trust, continuation of mutual support and coordination of actions at international arena, cooperation in security sphere. In its turn, based on the priorities of the party’s electorate, the party underlines that it is important to further develop trade-economic and investment ties with China, establish direct contacts among business entities, achieve growth in trade and investment, energy, non-raw sectors,high technologies and transport infrastructure.
