SCO RATS Council holds session in Dushanbe

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 25th session of the Council of Regional Anti-terrorism structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 19 September 2014. The session was chaired by Tajikistan.
Representatives of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS participated in the session.
At the session, the participants approved documents regulating cooperation of the SCO RATS with competent bodies of Mongolia, Iran and Afghanistan to strengthen international cooperation to fight terrorism.
The sides approved measures of the SCO member states of the competent bodies against persons, participating in international conflicts along with terrorist and extremist organizations. They also approved measures to protect trans-boundary oil and gas pipelines.
The participants adopted decision on creation of group of experts of competent bodies of the SCO member states to coordinate joint measures to fight activities of terrorist, separatist and extremism organizations and groups, representing threats to the SCO member states.
The action plan and regulation of the work of the joint working group of the SCO experts and representatives of the SCO RATS Executive Committee to reveal and prevent use of internet for terrorism, separatism and extremism in 2015-2016 was approved.
The sides agreed to connect Executive Committee of the SCO RATS to open information of database on fighting terrorism.
The SCO member states discussed activities of the SCO RATS, execution of the decisions of the SCO RATS Council, plan of work of border services of the SCO member states for 2015.
Uzbekistan assumed presidency in the Council of the SCO RATS from Tajikistan. Next session of the Council of the SCO RATS will be held in March 2015.
