Uzbekistan increases production of metallic tungsten in 2012

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek Combine of Refractory and High-Temperature Metals increased production of metallic tungsten by 2.8 times year-on-year in 2011 – to 130.8 tonnes.
According to the enterprise, production of molybdenum fell by 6.2% year-on-year in 2012 to 522 tonnes.
Uzbek Combine of Refractory and High-Temperature Metals was built in 1956. The plant produces hard alloys, powders and metal roll from molybdenum and tungsten. Raw materials for the production of molybdenum products are received from Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine and tungsten products are imported from Russia.
