South Korean delegation visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of business circles of South Korea led by President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Busan city Cho Sung Je arrived in Uzbekistan.
The Korean delegation includes heads and representatives of Korean companies, working in such areas as construction, machinery, pharmaceutical, textile industry, tourism and services, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said.
The visit of the delegation is aimed at holding negotiations with the representatives of Uzbek companies and organizations.
Within the visit, the delegation visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. It was noted that Uzbekistan is interested in further expansion of bilateral trade, long-term supply of strategic goods from Uzbekistan to Korea, such as cotton-fibre, yarn, copper, uranium, polyethylene, petrochemical products, etc.
The business forum and cooperation exchange with participation of business circles of Uzbekistan and South Korea was held. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tashkent region and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Busan city signed an agreement of cooperation.
Bilateral trade turnover between two nations rose by 31.4% year-on-year to US$2.14 billion in 2012, of which US$113.9 million were exports and US$2.026 billion - imports of Uzbekistan.
Number of enterprises with Korean capital in Uzbekistan exceeds 400, of which 67 are with 100% Korean investments. They work in such areas as food, chemistry, mining, light, trade, machinery, tourism and other sectors.
