Uzbekistan increases excise taxes for alcohol

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan increased the rates of excise tax for alcohol products, alcohol and beer, produced in the country, from 1 January 2014.
New rates of excise tax were set in line with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov “On forecast of main macroeconomic figures and parameters of State Budget of Uzbekistan for 2014”.
According to the document, from 1 January 2014 the excise tax for ethyl alcohol makes up 3,637 soums per decilitre (+20%) and for natural wines – 5,492 soums for 1 decilitre of ready product (+5%).
The excise tax for other wines set at 6,587 soums per decilitre (+15%), cognac, vodka and other alcohol products – 32,700 soums (+25) and beer – 3,570 soums (+20%).
