Uzbekistan and Vietnam hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Next round of political consultations between delegations of Uzbekistan and Vietnam at the level of deputy foreign ministers of two states was held in Hanoi on 14 March 2014.
During the talks, which was held in constructive and business mood, the sides exchanged opinion on priority directions of deepening Uzbek-Vietnamese dialogue, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
Despite long distance between two states, both Uzbekistan and Vietnam pay attention to construction harmonic and long-term relations and interested in further strengthening interaction at bilateral level and within global and regional organizations.
The sides considered issues of expanding partnership in trade-economic, investment, tourism and other areas. The sides also considered implementation of the agreements, reached at the sixth session of intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, which was held in December 2013 in Hanoi. Six documents were signed after the session.
Uzbekistan and Vietnam expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in such sectors of economy as mining and chemistry, electrotechnical, machinery, textile, leather-footwear, renewable energy, agriculture, silk breeding, fishing and ICT sectors.
The officials expressed hope that successful hosting of Days of Uzbek culture in Vietnam in 2014 will serve as additional factor for strengthening friendly cultural-humanitarian relations between two states and people.
On 13-14 March, the delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings and negotiations with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, management of PetroVietnam, Vinatex and other state bodies. The sides considered perspectives of expanding Uzbek-Vietnamese cooperation in various areas.
