Uzbekistan is among the group with medium human development level, according to the UN Human Development Index.

Experts rate the countries on life expectancy at birth (68.2 years for Uzbekistan), mean years of schooling (10 years), expected years of schooling (11.5 years) and gross national income per capita (US$5,227).

Norway topped the index. Australia, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the USA followed Norway in the index.
