UzLiDeP receives 52 seats in Legislative Chamber

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The movement of entrepreneurs and business people – The Liberal-Democratic party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) won majority seats in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan in line with results of elections.

Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov stated that in line with the results of elections to the Legislative Chamber, 150 MPs of the Legislative Chamber were elected.

He said that UzLiDeP won 52 seats, Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Milliy Tiklanish – 36, People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan – 27, Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Adolat – 20 seats. Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan elected 15 MPs at its conference.

The CEC chairperson Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov underlined that 24 from 150 MPs or 16% are women.

He stated that about 40 people from 150 MPs of the Legislative Chamber or 27% were earlier elected to the lower house of parliament. He added that almost all layers of the society are represented in the Legislative Chamber.
