Geneva hosts event on trade issues in Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Geneva office of the United Nations hosted a high-level seminar on regional cooperation in the field of trade in Central Asia on 3 July. It was organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNICE).
The meeting was attended by representatives of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the UN Radio reported.
The participants discussed how the national trade development programmes in their countries can help in the implementation of sustainable development, as well as the implementation of the Vienna Programme of Action for countries without access to the sea, and the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation.
Based on the outcome of the workshop, the UNECE staff and other international organizations will prepare concrete proposals for action to support regional cooperation in the field of trade in Central Asia.
