Uzbekistan plans to increase exports up to US$25bn by 2021

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to increase the volume of exports by 1.5 times to US$25 billion by 2021, Review.uz reported citing the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov.
According to Azimov, the growth of export potential will be achieved due to deepening reforms – modernization and diversification of private property, decreasing role and place of the state in economy, deepening localization of production, modernization of communication and road-transport infrastructure, decreasing power intensity of economy.
He said that oil and gas, machinery, petrochemical, electrotechnical, textile, food, pharmaceutical and construction materials industries will develop in the country.
It is planned to launch production of over 1,000 new industrial products on almost 100 goods groups.
