Uzbekistan and Malaysia to discuss issues on cooperation development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) held a meeting with the companies of Uzbekistan to discuss cooperation between two states.
The meeting was dedicated to development of cooperation in the sphere of construction materials and automobile industry.
Deputy head of Embassy of Malaysia to Uzbekistan Muhammad Fadzli said that Uzbekistan and Malasia are cooperating in various sphere.
He noted that Uzbekistan is one of main trade partners of Malaysia in Central Asia. He said that trade turnover between two states in 2015 made up about US$105 million. In the first quarter of 2016, the bilateral trade turnover rose by 16%.
Muhammad Fadzli said that about 65% of trade turnover of Malaysia with the Central Asian states (US$161.4 million in 2015) fell to share of Uzbekistan (US$104.4 million in 2015). According to representative of MATRADE said that Uzbekistan is the third largest trade partner of Malaysia amongthe CIS states.
During the meeting, MATRADE representative Abdulaziz Yunusov presented the activities of MATRADE in promotion of goods and services of Malaysian in foreign markets.
Abdulaziz Yunusov also briefed the participants on opportunities of Malaysia in the sphere of construction materials and automobile industry.
The participants also discussed issues of establishing cooperation between companies of Uzbekistan and Malaysia, realization of joint projects, etc.
