Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 June, Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) conducted the Final exam for students of Pre-University Course of the IUT Continuing Education Center. The best students with the highest scores will be accepted to IUT without entrance examinations.
IUT Continuing Education Center aims at training young people to take entrance exams to higher educational institutions. Currently, the Center offers courses on Math, Physics and English language.
The Center attracts experienced and highly-qualified teachers and strictly controls the education process. Each trimester, Pre-University Course students have to take interim exams and only successful students continue their education.
The manager of IUT Continuing Education Center Amirulla Abdullaev said that last year, the Center accepted about 370 young people for one- and two-year programmes and only 118 of them received an opportunity to take the Final exam. This shows that Continuing Education Center does not focus on the quantity, but concentrates on the quality of education.
Amirulla Abdullaev emphasized that the applicants who want to study at School of Logistics of IUT had to take only Math exam. For School of Computer engineering applicants had to take Math and Physics. One hour was allocated for each subject, so applicants spent two hours solving the problems during the exam.
Since the Final exam of Pre-University Courses is considered as the entrance exam to IUT, specialists of Inha University in the Republic of Korea were responsible for its management and organization. The exam questions were prepared in South Korea and brought to Uzbekistan one day prior to the exam. The results will be announced on 30 June 2017.
Top 30% of the students of the Pre-University Course or those, who can get more than 60% of the total score, will become the students of Inha University in Tashkent without taking main IUT entrance exams. At the same time, these students have an opportunity to sit the main IUT entrance exam and compete for grant places.
First and second year students of lyceums and colleges are also given a chance to become students of Inha University in Tashkent before their graduation. They will be admitted to Inha University in Tashkent once they receive their diplomas from their colleges or lyceums.
Last year, 82% of graduates of IUT Pre-University Course enrolled to universities. At the same time, about 61% of them became students of IUT. The Center expects that the figure will grow in 2017.
