Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 July 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan Yerik Utembayev.
The parties discussed the practical aspects of official opening ceremony of the Okultin-Tselinniy and Malik-Syrdarya checkpoints on the Uzbek-Kazakh state borders, which will allow to use a part of the M-39 road, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service said.
The relevant Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on checkpoints through the Uzbek-Kazakh state border (4 September 2006) was signed by the sides through diplomatic channels in preparation for the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan on 22-23 March 2017.
