Supreme Court denied information about the storming of its building
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16-17 August 2017, some Internet sites published information on so-called assault of the building of Supreme Court of Uzbekistan by the citizens, who were waiting for meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Court Kozimjan Kamilov.

According to the press service of the Supreme Court, the internet outlets distorted the reality, reporting about “strong cries of angry citizens”, “demolition of closed gates”, “broken lock”, “300-400 people”, etc.

The court said that internet outlets did not check information and hurried with conclusion and definitions and exaggerated situation.

The chairman of the Supreme Court Kozimjan Kamilov received over 100 citizens from 9.30 to 21.00 on 15 August on civil, criminal, administrative and economic issues.

In addition, on the same day, applications and complaints were received from 27 people, and oral appeals on various issues – from 72 people.

During the reception, several citizens, who were waiting outside the gate of the Supreme Court building, distracting the attention of the security officers and the court staff, unauthorizedly opened the gate and entered the court building in order to get to meet with the chairperson without waiting their order.

They entered the foyer of the building and received explanations about the procedure for receiving citizens, some of them, with their consent, were accepted by the deputy chairman and judges of the Supreme Court. The chairman of the Supreme Court received others.

On 16 August, Kozimjan Kamilov received over 60 people from 9:30 to 17:30.

Supreme Court said that the chairperson and his deputies are receiving citizens every day.
