Scale of introduction of Dutch technologies for storing fruits and vegetables in Uzbekistan is expanding
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov met with the Director General of Geerlofs Refrigeration (Netherlands) Radbow Blom and manager Peter Jan Robemont to discuss current projects and prospects for cooperation.
During the negotiations, the Dutch side informed about the results of their visit to Uzbekistan in November this year, when a company delegation took part in the UzAgroExpo exhibition and held talks with Uzbek companies on the construction of storage facilities for fruits and vegetables in 2020-2021.
Geerlofs Refrigeration, founded in 1933, is engaged in the construction of refrigerators for flowers and flower bulbs, the design, installation and maintenance of refrigerated warehouses and freezers for all types of perishable products, such as flowers, flower bulbs, vegetables, potatoes, fruits, meat and fish.
Geerlofs Refrigeration actively works with horticultural and agricultural enterprises, as well as in the processing and research of food products. It has offices in China, Ethiopia, Kenya, Russia and Singapore, as well as agents and partners in many other countries.
Geerlofs Refrigeration has extensive experience working with all types of cooling systems: central or decentralized; direct or indirect cooling; natural refrigerants such as ammonia, propane and / or CO2, as well as environmentally friendly HFC refrigerants.
The company has been successfully operating in the market of Uzbekistan since 2014. Over 5 years of interaction with Uzbek partners, turnkey construction of 9 large projects on refrigeration equipment in the regions in the Samarkand, Tashkent, Ferghana regions was ensured. In particular, in 2019, a large project was launched in the Kuva region of the Ferghana region.
Taking into account the active measures taken by Uzbekistan to increase the export of fruits and vegetables and unused great potential, Radboom Blom expressed the company’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance to the farms of the republic in ensuring storage of products for the purpose of their further sale in a more favorable season in terms of value.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize in Uzbekistan at the beginning of 2020 a training and a seminar on the technologies available at the company for storage and warehousing of fruits and vegetables.
