Cooperation in education spgere discussed in London

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 21 February 2020, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Great Britain Said Rustamov met with Vice President of Buckingham University, Professor James Tooley. The director of the Agency for Development of the Capital Market of Uzbekistan Atabek Nazirov also attended the meeting.
During the negotiations, issues of establishing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the oldest British independent university, which is among the top ten universities in terms of teaching excellence and quality of education, as well as in such disciplines as finance, accounting, business, management and marketing, were discussed. The university is also the holder of the Royal Charter (charter) - a special distinction granted by the British monarch to outstanding British organizations.
James Tooley took with interest information on the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, including in the field of personnel training, noting the great potential for expanding cooperation with the republic in higher education. According to him, the British university is ready to consider the possibility of establishing a long-term partnership with Uzbekistan.
An agreement was reached to organize an extended meeting with the leadership and members of the faculty of Buckingham University to present Uzbekistan and discuss potential areas of cooperation.
As a next step, it is planned to organize a visit to Uzbekistan of representatives of a British university in order to explore opportunities for establishing practical cooperation through inter-university cooperation, implementing joint educational programs and opening a branch.
