Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation of the Uztekstilprom Association was in Turkey to hold meetings and negotiations with Turkish partners on issues of deepening cooperation in the textile sector, in particular, training personnel (technologists, designers) together with Turkish Universities.
During his stay in Turkey, President S. Mirziyoyev noted the importance of the full-scale implementation of the agreements and signed agreements, the active promotion of joint projects in the areas of trade, innovation, energy, infrastructure development, transport, tourism, textile and food industries, and other industries.
“Uzbekistan is not the same as before. Today, a company entering our country will definitely benefit. I guarantee it. The necessary legal and institutional conditions will be created for this, ”said the President.
According to Internet sources, at present, in terms of quality and novelty of equipment, which are equipped with textile factories, Turkey ranks 4th in the world. The quality of the products has already reached the level when Turkish textiles are deservedly compared in quality to German and Italian. At the same time, Turkish high-quality textiles are much cheaper than their European counterparts. Today, textile production accounts for 20% of all industrial production in Turkey and about 10% of total Turkish GDP. An important role in the development of the industry is played by the personnel training system.
Today, Turkish universities are highly rated by experts: Turkey is in the world top 50 of the strongest higher education systems. The Turkish government seeks to make higher education in the country consistent with the standards of European universities, so that the Turkish university system is included in the Bologna system. There are 12 universities in the country aimed at training personnel for the textile industry.
So, on 18 February, a meeting of the Uztekstilprom delegation with the leadership of the Textile Department of Istanbul Technological University took place in Istanbul. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Textile Engineering and Design, Professor Omer Burke Berkalp, professors and university staff.
During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of joint projects were discussed, in particular, ways to finance the expected cooperation were discussed by attracting grant funds from the Turkish Scientific and Technical Council for Research (www.tubitak.gov.tr), European Union funds for technical re-equipment of KA107 from Erasmus +, and grants The Ministry of Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at bilateral cooperation, as well as the funds of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (www.tika.gov.tr) for working in social programs, and support of large manufacturing enterprises.
At present, the draft Memorandum of Cooperation between organizations is being considered for subsequent signing and approval.
