Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, on 2 March, Transport Minister Elyor Ganiev received TRACEC Secretary General Aset Asavbaev.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the activation of the TRACECA corridor. In particular, it was about projects aimed at increasing the competitiveness and attractiveness of this corridor.

Transport Minister Elyor Ganiev emphasized that in the years when the potential of the corridor was fully utilized, the volume of cargo transportation was high. He noted that there is a good opportunity for the renewal of the TRACECA corridor through the effective use of the potential of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.

In turn, the TRACECA Secretary General Aset Asavbaev informed about the implementation of such projects as digitalization of the TRACECA corridor, ensuring transport security, improving border crossing procedures, optimizing logistics centers and ports, as well as using an integrated border control system.

Following the meeting, Transport Minister Elyor Ganiev expressed the willingness of the Uzbek side to support projects in this area.
