Uzbek Transport Minister meets with representatives of the International Finance Corporation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 March, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a delegation of the International Finance Corporation, which is part of the World Bank Group, led by Wibke Schlemer, regional director for Europe and Central Asia.

The meeting discussed the organization of consultations of the International Finance Corporation on attracting foreign investors for the modernization and management of airports in Uzbekistan.

First of all, the Minister of Transport, Elyor Ganiev, informed Ms. Wibke Schlemer of the large-scale reforms in the field of civil aviation in Uzbekistan in recent years and plans for 2020. The parties also exchanged views on improving the operation of airports and improving the quality of passenger service.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of cooperation with the International Finance Corporation in the implementation of investment projects that are planned to be implemented on the basis of public-private partnership in Uzbekistan.
