Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministers of transport of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran hold talks in the form of a videoconference.
The Ministry of Transport organized a video conference between the heads of the ministries of transport and departments of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
A delegation of our country led by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elyer Ganiev took part in it. The delegation also included Botirjon Kurbanov, First Deputy Director of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare, Akmal Kamolov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, Bakhtiyor Rakhimov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee and others.
The online meeting discussed issues of cooperation in the field of transport, the formation of regional and international transport and communications infrastructure.
The parties exchanged views on measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the development of trade and economic relations.
During the video conference, it was noted that it is important to establish contacts in the field of logistics in order to ensure stable transportation of goods in different directions.
Speaking at a videoconference, Elyor Ganiev spoke about the importance of restoring transit freight traffic by rail across state borders during a pandemic. He also proposed the elimination of problems related to restrictive measures in the transport sector and the mitigation of restrictions.
“In accordance with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological standards, it is necessary to take measures to ease restrictions on the transportation of goods by road through the territories of our countries,” Ganiev said.
At the event, an agreement was reached on the exchange of information between our countries on existing laws and regulations in the field of transport. In addition, the possibilities of organizing cargo transportation along the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman transport corridor were studied.
