Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between Uzbekneftegaz and the Secretary General of the Energy Charter Urban Rusnak.
During the meeting, the foreign side was familiarized with the ongoing transformational reforms in the oil and gas industry and the current achievements and promising goals of Uzbekneftegaz.
In turn, the Secretary General provided appropriate recommendations to Uzbekneftegaz to obtain an international credit rating. Also, Rusnak stressed the relevance of the introduction of "green projects" at the production facilities of Uzbekneftegaz, which will be aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
As a result of the meeting, the Parties reached agreements on studying promising projects. The parties also stressed the important role of cooperation and hope for the further expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Energy Charter (European Energy Charter) is a multilateral trade and investment agreement in the energy sector. The treaty was signed by the European Union in December 1994 and entered into force in April 1998. To date, 52 states have joined it.
